Classification System

For natural reasons most of the items we sell are in a used condition.
In order to give you an idea of what condition a specific item is in we use a classification system based on one to five stars.
This system is meant to indicate the overall condition of the item.
Obvious defects such as chips or discolorations will be further detailed in the item description as well as in the item picture.

The star classification system is defined as follows:

***** Mint or "as new" condition -

Hardly any old items except those that for some reason has been left in storage or been in the keep of dedicated collectors has remained in this condition. Five stars mean no wear and tear as well as no manufacturing faults to any part of the item. The item is as it was when it was first unpacked.

**** Excellent condition -

Visible areas should have no signs of wear except very faint hard to detect surface scratches. Non-visible areas such as the base of an item might have small scratches but these should not disturb the overall impression of the item when on display. None of these items will have chips or discolorations. Any manufacturing faults will be minor and further described in both the item description as well as photo gallery.

*** Very good condition -

Very little wear and tear but light surface scratches from use might be present on visible areas. Non-visible areas might have wear on for example the item base. Chips or discolorations should be minor and only present on non-visible areas such as the inside of a tea pot so as not to disturb the overall impression of the item when on display. Any damages will be further described in both the item description as well as photo gallery. Manufacturing faults should not distract from the overall impression of the item and will be further described in both the item description as well as photo gallery.

** Good condition -

Visible areas will have clear signs of use such as scratches. Scuffs or limited manufacturing flaws might be present on visible areas and chips or discolorations on non-visible areas.

* Fair Condition–

This item has seen frequent use during the years. Visible as well as non-visible areas will have scratches and possibly chips and discolorations. Significant damage such as cracks, chips or discolorations will be outlined in the item description as well as photo gallery.
